Winning the West Again
or Part 2: The Implementation
When I discovered King Ranch Saddle Shop’s website, I began to think how much fun it would be to add a touch of Western decor to our home and I shared with you some of my ideas and inspiration in a previous post that you can read HERE.
Here is how our Study looked BEFORE:
The wood box installation story is HERE on Boxing Day.
I had so much fun with this makeover. My husband and I both love the wall of boxes, but the wall to the right of the sofa was a never ending change of decor, because nothing was right. But now, I LOVE it!
So here is the wall to the right AFTER…
I love this change! I had been looking for somewhere to hang my tobacco basket ever since we moved into this house over 5 years ago. It has now found the perfect home. I hung Mr. Menace’s BB Gun and his 22 Rifle and the whole area just came together. The Home Depot wood barrel holds our canes and walking sticks, while a trio of wood step stools hold a lantern. The finishing touch was the flower bouquet.
Cowgirl Boots make the cutest vases! I just put a canning jar, which was half filled with water, inside and added the flowers. It makes such a bright spot in the room.
The other half of the room was fun to update too. The more I looked, the more I found appropriate decor already in my home. The canvas, which was a gift to Mr. Menace from his daughter, is from a photograph that she took. The horse & clock is like one that was in his home when he was growing up. I also added a few items to my wall of boxes: horseshoes, wood stirrup, spur, star, boot scraper, and some Gene Autry and Roy Rogers cowboy books that belonged to my Daddy.
Again, adding a bouquet of flowers was the finishing touch. This time, I used a pair of short booties and some flowers from the yard. I love how it turned out.
I realize this post is very heavy on the photos, but I just can’t help myself. The transformation is so wonderful, I just have to share.
I didn’t even realize that I wanted to have some western decor in my home, but now, I realize that I do! I am very pleased with how it came together and it solved some decorating blocks that I had been having.
So have I convinced you to give it a try in your home?
