Casual, but not Boring

Casual, but not Boring

I work at a small computer business and the daily dress is casual and I mean CASUAL! Like… shorts and flip flops. The guys and even one girl do that, but I just can’t. I can be Casual, but not boring!

And, believe it or not, I even get tired of wearing jeans.ย So what do I do?

**You might call this a disclaimer, but I totally claim it, so that seems almost like an oxymoron to call it that, but ANYWAY….. These photos are awful. I am well aware of that. My bathroom is dark and the mirror is dirty. Let’s just say that gives the photos some charm. OK?**

Vegas t-shirt from Thrift Store, Jeans from Stitch Fix, Silver Shoes from Amazon

I dress up my jeans outfits! I add a third interesting piece to the standard “shirt and jeans uniform.” This is called the Rule of Three in the fashion world.

It might be a vest:

Tank and Jeans from Stitch Fix, Vest from Cato’s

It might be a jacket:

Shirt from Stitch Fix, Jacket from Thrift Store

Or a duster:

Vest from Cato’s, Jeans from Stitch Fix

It could be a scarf:

Scarf from Burke’s, Jeans from Stitch Fix

Or it could even be a statement necklace:

Jacket , Jeans, and Booties from Stitch Fix

And the jeans themselves….. not always the ordinary blue jeans:

And shoes.
ALWAYS cute shoes!

You can even take your outfits up another notch by added a fourth piece!

This is hard to do in the summer time in Alabama, because of the heat and humidity. Winter time is much easier! But if you live somewhere a bit cooler than I do, you can add the vest AND the scarf.

A crossbody bag makes a great 4th piece:

As does a bold necklace:

You may have noticed that EVERY. SINGLE. OUTFIT. includes at least one piece from Stitch Fix. This online styling service has made me so happy.

First of all, it’s FUN!

Second of all, I don’t have to waste spend a whole day at the mall.

And third of all, I can try clothes on at my leisure and even try styling them with different pieces from my closet. And with different shoes even!

Did you know?

Stitch Fix now has PLUS SIZES!

Maternity Fixes

And a MEN’S styling service.ย

Mr. Menace got a couple of fixes and since I filled out his profile, I LOVED the outfits they sent him. But to tell you the truth, he just isn’t adventurous enough. He likes his polos and khakis and that’s all he wants.

Maybe jeans aren’t your thing! If not, I wrote about skirts HERE, and included some dresses HERE.
