Fall Herbal Centerpiece
I was perusing the internet, when I stumbled upon Trisha’s Blowing Away Out West fall blog post 4 Projects Cast a Spell for a Bewitching Kitchen.
As I was reading the first project, I was dreaming of having such a big kitchen and a wonderfully huge island that could allow such an enormous bouquet!
But dreams are dreams and I kept reading.
Thanks so much to Miranda at The Myrabev Life blog for featuring this post on You’re The Star!
There were such fun Halloween ideas! But some years I get around to decorating and some years I don’t. This was one of those “don’t” years. Although I thought the spell book was awesome and pinned it for future “do” years.
I kept thinking about that bouquet.
And I decided that on a smaller scale, I could do something similar.
So after work, I grabbed some scissors, and a vase and hurried outside before it got dark.
I filled the vase with rainwater.
Using several long pieces of rosemary, I created a backdrop for my bouquet.
I then added some purple basil for color, lime basil seed stalks for interest, dill flowers for contrast, and fennel fronds for texture.
Then I realized that a few eucalyptus stems as filler would complete the arrangement.
It doesn’t photograph well, but I am so pleased with how it turned out and the aroma is divine!
Where does your inspiration come from?
That looks so lovely! I really like how you grow such a variety of plants and flowers in your yard.
I dream of a spectacular yard some day…. but as you saw, its only tiny areas of color. I am working on it though. I am really enjoying my “herb bed.” Thanks for your support Lisa. 🙂
I think you nailed it on a smaller scale. So very pretty, and I bet it does smell divine!
Thank you Ricki. I am amazed actually how much I can smell it without touching it. I always thought that you had to touch herbs to smell them. 🙂
A girl after my own heart! I love clipping flowers from the garden and working them into my décor. Such a pretty mix of blooms and greens!
I am making it a goal to do it more often Maureen! I have enjoyed this aromatic bouquet so much. Thanks for visiting with me. 🙂
What a fabulous center piece!! I’m so lazy about making these, but with the right pieces—it could be wonderful like this one!!

I think it’s beautiful and I love the simplicity, that’s just my type of DIY. Now if only I could just walk outside and pick such pretty plants ….

Oh it does Jeanie! I catch a whiff often! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
Oh the wonderful scent of eucalyptus. I picked some up at the flower stall at my super market. Adding herbs to them for an arrangement–what a great idea.
I am considering setting up a flower stall at our local farmers market! I have a lot of growing to do though…. Thanks for visiting with me! 🙂

Good Afternoon Nikki, As they say, ‘the best things come in little parcels’ and I think your centre piece fits right into that category. The aroma in your room bust have been gorgeous. I love the added touch of the eucalyptus branches….. just gorgeous.
Best Wishes
Daphne

Your bouquet turned out beautifully! The one you copied was beautiful, too, with the purply pink lantana spiking out of it. Happy decorating!!!

I really like how wild your arrangement is, so pretty. My inspiration can come from Pinterest of course, but this morning I was really excited because I finally sorted out my Christmas theme based on some song lyrics I heard. It so fun where inspiration sparks like that. Happy belated Halloween.
