Watching children learn new things is fascinating. It reminds us of some of the most simple but wonderful things in this world, that we often take for granted as adults. I really enjoy buying gifts for the children in my life and I am sure you do too and I hope this gift guide will help you find the perfect gifts this year.
When I am buying for all the kids in my family, I find it works good for me to buy all in the same theme. It is easier to remember what I’ve gotten for them and anything that makes shopping easier is what I want in my life! One year I might buy all gardening items, and another year I bought all geography themed gifts, and another year I decided to purchase all bird watching gifts. Oh and one year I purchased all airport themed gifts…. the theme ideas are limitless!

One of my favorite things to do with my grandchildren is to teach them about growing things. These gardening gift ideas for kids were so much fun to put together.
This Little Tikes Garden Table is so cute and would be great for toddlers and children up to 5 years old! I can envision a lot of digging and watering going on here.
I love the idea of planting a pizza garden and the pizza design is really cute! However, you cannot really grow a bell pepper plant in the container shown, nor a tomato plant. The container shown is used to sprout the seeds, but be aware that the plants will need to be transplanted to a deeper container or even outside.
There are many garden kits to choose from: Flower Garden, Fairy Garden, Terrarium.
And then there are gardening books too! Nothing better than combining the love of reading with the love of gardening.
Globes are so much fun and so educational too. There are many price ranges to choose from.
Or how about an interactive map!
How about a Continent Puzzle pack?
This kit contains kid sized binoculars and a bird identification map.
This one includes binoculars, a bird watching book, and a birdhouse kit!
I love this whole kit and especially the fact that it comes with the tin box to keep it all together.
And I like to include this little book of stickers too, along with a journal.
Along with a bird guide book! There are several to choose from…
All of the above gifts have been huge hits in my family and I have one more secret to share with you. That is the NOT FOR PARENTS books by Lonely Planet for Kids… ALL of these are amazing and there are too many to list them all, but click on one and then take a look at all the options. I guarantee these books will be a hit with your kids.
I found something really exciting at The Cornell Lab of Ornithology this year. They have some really cool stuff for kids, AND several things for adults as well.
