You know there are a lot of things that, if we think too long and hard about them, we will NEVER do them… Like meeting a new friend for coffee, or hosting a party, or starting a blog!
Sometimes, its best if we just jump in with BOTH feet and don’t over think it.
So how do you start a blog? It’s simple really and you can do it in 3 EASY steps!
*This post contains affiliate links to products or companies that I truly love and believed in before I joined the affiliate program. If you use these links to make a purchase, I will be compensated at no extra cost to you.*
You need a host.
I first started with the free host Blogger. It was fine, but very limited and involved a bit of a hassle when I wanted to change over. When I decided that I wanted to do more with my blog, I went with the highly recommended and affordable company, Bluehost.
Once you click on my affiliate link you will be taken to the Bluehost website. There you will see a GREEN GET STARTED NOW button. When you click on the green button you will then be taken to 3 different plan options. Choose a price option and then the fun begins!
Choose a name.
Bluehost makes it really easy to get your domain name (your blog’s address). I decided that I wanted the name of my blog to be Gwin Gal and I wanted the matching address or domain name, gwingal.com.
You can type your favorite name choices into the NEW DOMAIN box to see which ones are available. Once you pick out which one you want to use, click on NEXT to make your purchase.
Make it pretty!
Once your purchase is complete, you get to pick out a theme!
OH BOY! This is where you get to make your blog cute! Who doesn’t like designing?
There are hundreds of options available for FREE! Or you can choose to buy a Premium theme. I have used a free one for over two years now and have not had any problems with it.
You are now ready to start writing on Word Press and soon you will be publishing your first blog post.
It really is that simple to get started.
I am still learning TONS of ways to make things better on my blog, but the initial setup is quite easy. Even this gal can do it!
Do you have still have questions? I’d love to help you, just ask.
